Effective July 19, 2026

This page describes what morkelfinancial.com collects, who processes it, and how long we keep it. The short version: the site collects what you type into the contact form and standard analytics about page visits, and nothing else. Tax documents never belong on this website. Those go through our encrypted client portal.

What the site collects

The contact form asks for your name, email, phone number, a topic, and a message. That is the only place this site asks you to type anything about yourself. Submissions are delivered to us by Formspree, the form-processing service that powers the form, and arrive in our business email.

The calculators and the tax receipt tool run entirely in your browser. Numbers you enter there are never stored or transmitted.

Like most sites, we use analytics to understand which pages get read: Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics collect page views, referring sites, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Vercel, our hosting provider, also keeps standard server logs. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

What not to send through this site

Do not put Social Security numbers, tax documents, bank or account details, or photos of IRS notices into the contact form. The form travels through a third-party processor and ordinary email, and neither is the right channel for sensitive material. Every client document goes through our Encyro secure portal, which encrypts files in transit and at rest and logs every access. If you are not a client yet, send the question without the documents and we will set you up on the portal before anything sensitive changes hands.

Who processes data for us

Formspree handles contact-form delivery. Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics handle usage measurement. Vercel hosts the site. Square handles online appointment booking on its own site, and Encyro handles secure document exchange. Each processes data under its own privacy terms, and we share nothing with them beyond what those functions require.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept as ordinary business correspondence so we have context when you write back. If you want a message deleted, email ewan@morkelfinancial.com and we will delete it from our systems and ask Formspree to do the same, unless we are required to keep it. Client tax records follow a different rule: professional standards and IRS requirements set how long those are retained, regardless of this policy.

Client confidentiality

Information you give us as a tax client is protected well beyond this policy. IRC §7216 and §6713 impose criminal and civil penalties on tax return preparers who disclose or misuse tax return information, and Treasury Circular 230 governs our conduct as an Enrolled Agent practice. We maintain a written information security program as required of tax preparers by the FTC Safeguards Rule.

Your choices

You can browse this site without submitting anything. You can block analytics with standard browser tools or Google's opt-out browser add-on, and the site works fine either way. You can always skip the form entirely and call (801) 210-9358 instead.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions about it go to ewan@morkelfinancial.com or Morkel Financial, LLC, 768 S 1600 W, Ste A, Mapleton, UT 84664.
